I found myself drifting into thoughts about difficult conversations I've had with a couple different people while relating to your words. I like confrontation somewhat. I've not always been civil and enjoyed it.

On the other hand, it's wonderful to have civil discord, ha I said it, yet respect the other's opinion and see as well as attempt to understand their perspective. That softening, maybe even empathy can wiggle its way in.
