It’s the 4th of July, Independence Day, so did you read the Declaration of Independence today? I did. A time to reflect on our freedoms and dare to compare the reasons for separation from an oppressive regime to our situation today.

Are there hints or suggestions of similar abuses occurring in the United States? You read and decide. I think there are. Our political system isn’t perfect, but it’s the best thing my family and I can afford and thrive in.

Facts about the 4th:

  • The Declaration of Independence was voted on and approved independence on July 2, 1776, by the Second Continental Congress.
  • On July 4, 1776, the (DOI) was ratified(signed or made official).
  • The United States of America achieved independence from Britain in 1783 on September 3 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris.

Should we celebrate a different independence day date?

Hmm?
