This is not true at all. Copywriting is discussed in a ton of places concerning making money. Yes, you can make money at it but it's not so easy to get work and work that pays well. It is a method to make money. Laughable, like you're opening up a topic that's hiding and not many know about. Only if you're hiding in a cave the last 50 years. But good on you for telling people they can do something besides scroll and wish.
